The activities of the club are coordinated by Marco Nannini who took part in the Global Ocean Race (GOR) 2011/2012 on his Class40 Financ

The Italian center for offshore sailing and training, or CIVA from its italian name "Centro Italiano Vela d'Altura" is an initiative run by Marco Nannini's sporting association founded in 2012.

"Mowgli" is the official name of the Class40 Akilaria RC1 that Marco Nannini has skippered over the years under various sponsors such as "Sungard", "UniCredit" and "Eutourist"; he later jokingly named her "Financial Crisis" when times were harder! This Class40, built in 2007, has an enviable pedigree. It is the only Class40 to have completed two round the world races: first, the 2008-2009 Global Ocean Race in which it came third, and then the same race in 2011-2012  where it came second. It has also participated in important races such as the Transat Jacque Vabre 2007, the Round Britain and Ireland 2010, and the Route du Rhum 2010. "Mowgli" is now fully equipped to off-shore sailing activities for eight guests. The large cockpit and inside space make the boat ideal for the development of these activities.
